Cyrloud - Guitar
Bernard CYRLOUD was born in 1963 in Paris. He began to study the guitar at the age of 14, at first being self-taught. Later, he studied for two years with Max Poimboeuf who then presented him to his own teacher José Maria Sierra, himself a disciple of Emilio Pujol. Sierra accepted him as a student at the National Music School of Créteil. Three years later, at the age of 19, Cyrloud obtained (unanimously from the jury) the "Premier Prix d"™Excellence." A master class, with Alberto Ponce deeply influenced Cyrloud in many musical and technical aspects, in particular, the quality of the sound.
For his career, Cyrloud began studies in medicine and became a cardiologist, a profession which he still practices today. Having abandoned somewhat his guitar for almost twenty years, he felt again the need to play and share his passion for music and the guitar. He inaugurated this revival with a series of concerts given to several associations. He also shared musical videos on the internet, in particular on YouTube, where certain performances have received close to 100,000 viewings. His meeting with the French guitarist and composer Jean-Marie Raymond in 2009, started a very productive musical collaboration culminating in the realization of these unpublished and rare recordings, under the supervision of the composer. "Poema Nostalgico" is a piece especially composed for Cyrloud, a testimonial of the solid friendship and the mutual respect which binds the two musicians. Cyrloud plays a spruce-top Mario Gropp guitar, Special IV model.
