Marlène Demers-Lemay - Guitar
Born in 1990, Marlène Demers-Lemay began studying the guitar at age 11 with Claude Gagnon, in Quebec City, Canada. In 2012 she was awarded a Bacherlor degree in music performance from the University of Ottawa, where she studied in the studio of Patrick Roux. In 2011 she released her first solo recording, “25”, by the publishing house Les productions d’Oz, featuring 25 original pieces by 25 different contemporary composers specially commissioned for the project.
Marlène has been awarded several scholarships and prizes and performs regularly in concert as a soloist as well as a part of Duo Musso-Lemay together with italian guitarist Marco Musso. Regularly receiving study grants, she has attended numerous festivals and guitar events where she has had the opportunity to learn from some of the greatest guitarists of the day, including Manuel Baruecco, Pepe Romero, Pavel Stadel, the Assad Brothers, and many others. Marlène is currently pursuing a Master in Performance at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland under the supervision of Lorenzo Micheli courtesy of a scholarship from the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec
